How the Fire Safety Stick Saved Becky’s Lorry!

“Beckys High-Stakes Drive: How a Quick-Thinking Move and a Fire Safety Stick Saved the Day on the M6!”

Becky was driving a fully loaded livestock lorry along the M6 with her friend Lucy in the passenger seat. Suddenly, they noticed another driver trying to get Becky’s attention by honking their horn. At that moment, Becky had no idea what the issue was with her vehicle; she suspected it might be a blown tyre. Prioritizing safety, she pulled over to a wide area of the M6 near Rugby Services, where she then noticed smoke coming from her wheels. As she climbed out of the cab, she spotted flames.

Recalling that there was a Fire Safety Stick in the side locker, she quickly handed it to Lucy, not having time to read the instructions. Becky then unhitched the trailer to prevent it from catching fire. Once Lucy ignited the Fire Safety Stick, Becky inserted it into one of the wheel’s holes and let it extinguish the flames. The Fire service was soon on the scene despite the Fire Safety Stick quickly extinguishing the fire and they gave Becky the all-clear to drive the tractor unit home. But not before they asked a few more questions about the Fire Safety Stick as they were so impressed just how effective it was! It’s worth remembering that if she had used a dry powder fire extinguisher, the residual damage from the powder would have likely prevented her from driving the lorry home and resulted in an extra bill!

Fortunately, at this stage, Becky had arranged for the trailer to be collected.

And for those travelling on the M6 that day, a huge relief since had the fire taken hold, the busy motorway would have been closed for some considerable time!

Lesson for us all – don’t waste valuable time! Although the Fire Safety Stick is very easy to use because it looks different to a traditional fire extinguisher, make sure you, your family or anyone else likely to need to use it, all read and understand the simple instruction guide straight away when you get the stick and not wait until a fire starts.

Becky could not be more thankful for having the Fire Safety Stick and has now added a Fire Safety Stick to her fleet of trucks. Acknowledging the size and weight of one of these Fire Safety Sticks and now knowing her Livelihood on transporting is safe for herself and her livestock.

Watch and find out how Beckys day unfolded not as expected

What was the extent of the Damage?

Fortunately, the wind tops were only lightly scratched after unhooking the trailer. Everything else remained undamaged, and the unit was driven home from the scene.

Unlike most conventional powder extinguishers, the Fire Safety Stick does not leave any corrosive mess or residue.

Fortunately, this situation has a positive outcome, but it highlights what is necessary in similar circumstances.

What actions would you take if you found yourself in a comparable scenario without a Fire Safety Stick?

What would you risk losing?

Is it possible that you could prevent the fire from becoming more severe?

A straightforward response is:

You would call for the Fire Brigade and wait for their arrival. Unfortunately, you would lose your lorry to fire damage, resulting in the loss of both the vehicle and its contents.

Don’t wait for something to happen, equip your Livelihood with a Fire Safety Stick, and watch our video on how to use it before you find yourself in situations like this.
