How to activate the Fire Safety Stick

Step 1
Remove and discard the TOP yellow cap.

Step 2
Take the BOTTOM yellow striker cap from the handle.

Step 3
Connect the brown, rough striking surface with the black tip, flick/strike to start activation (repeat if needed).

Step 4
Point the vapours at the base of the fire and allow the vapours to engulf.

Understand How It Works
The Fire Safety Stick emits a potassium-based aerosol that interrupts the chemical chain reaction of fire.
It doesn’t rely on pressure or physical force to extinguish flames, so it’s very lightweight and simple to use.
Additionally, it does not apply a cooling effect.
Therefore, it is important to keep pointing the aerosol jet at the fire to naturally bring the temperature down.
This is to mitigate the risk of re-ignition.
Dispose of It Safely After Use
Once the stick has finished emitting, it will cool down and can be safely discarded.
It’s non-toxic and non-pressurised, but handle the spent unit with care until fully cooled.
Separate the metal tube and plastic handle and sort into the appropriate recycling bins.

Domestic Maintenance Guide
Domestic (i.e. non-commercial) self-check visual inspections to maintain the Fire Safety Stick.
Step 1
Remove the ‘top protective cap’.
Step 2
Check the black tip is undamaged and still firm by softly pressing with your fingertip (not your nail).
Step 3
Check the ‘bottom striker cap’ is still firmly held in the handle.
Step 4
Check to see if the striker surface is damp. If yes, bring inside and expose at room temperature to dry. Please do not wipe if damp.
Step 5
Check the outside of the Fire Safety Stick for adverse external damage.
