Become ‘Greener’
with the Fire Safety Stick
The Fire Safety Stick can help businesses looking for a eco-friendly, or carbon offsetting, option to implement in to their environmental impact reduction strategy.
How can a fire extinguisher acheive that?
NO SERVICING
Think about it.
Every time a fire extinguisher/s needs servicing, there’s an inferred carbon footprint to perform the checks. The fuel and materials used to call out a technician and carry out a service on a premises or vehicle.
*With the Fire Safety Stick, everything is done IN-HOUSE. A visual inspection can be carried out and documented by any responsible person.
No callout. No materials used. No additional carbon footprint.
Lightweight
Vehicle fleets can save 2kg+ of weight per vehicle.
The most common powder extinguisher weighs 2.2kg, and the Fire Safety Stick weighs from 215 grams.
Use this to save fuel across hundreds to thousands of vehicles.
Add more goods to each vehicle, and reduce the cost per vehicle by increasing profit per trip.
Or, keep the weight down to ensure each vehicle stays below the weight limit.
15 Year Shelf Life
A typical powder extinguisher has a shelf life of 5 years.
The powder could be recharged for a further 5 years (at a cost) or, more commonly, replaced.
Whereas the Fire Safety Stick has been tested and proven to last at least 15 years.
Less waste, fewer materials used, reduced costs.
Recylable & Non-toxic
The Fire Safety Stick is fully recyclable after use, contains no PFAS, and is non-toxic.
It is well documented the environmental impact that traditional extinguishers have, with the materials used, harmful chemicals released, and use of landfills when disposed.
The Fire Safety Stick can be broken apart, after use, and appropriately recycled domestically, without use of prefessional disposal services usually used to remove traditional extinguishers.
Cost & servicing comparison
Fire Safety Stick PRO vs Traditional pressurised extinguisher:
| Feature | FSS PRO | Traditional Extinguisher |
|---|---|---|
| Servicing | None (visual inspection only) | Annual (required) |
| Shelf life | 15 years (minimum) | Typically 5 years |
| Weight | 215-365g | 2.2kg+ |
| Mess / Damage | None | High (powder/foam) |
| Eco impact | Non-toxic, PFAS-free | Chemical waste |
What items are included in the PRO packages?
Anti-tamper tag, inspection sticker, installation sticker, mounting clip (x2), maintenance log book and fire signage (optional).
PRO1, PRO2 & PRO3 – What’s the difference?
We have created 3 distinct PRO packages for varying environments for non-domestic implementation. We would describe ‘PRO1’ as the base package for the range, ‘PRO2’ as the mid-level package and ‘PRO3’ as the premium package. Here’s them compared to each other to visually see the difference:
PRO1
standard 'base' package

Typically implemented in: Vehicles & Machinery
PRO2
'mid-level' package

Typically implemented in: Vehicles & Machinery
PRO3
'premium' package

Typically implemented in: Vehicles & Non-domestic buildings
In summary
All ‘PRO’ versions share the same fire-fighting power – choose on how visible and rugged you need your fire safety setup to be.
PRO1: Core compliance
PRO2: Core compliance + Visibility
PRO3: Core compliance + Premium Visibility & Durability
How to maintain Fire Safety Stick PRO
Even though the Fire Safety Stick PRO is a service-free firefighting device, it must still be properly managed within a commercial environment to ensure compliance and traceability. In workplaces, vehicles, or any other business setting, maintaining accurate records of installation, inspection, and staff awareness demonstrates that the equipment remains suitable and ready for use under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 or The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 (HSWA). Regular visual checks, supported by logbook entries or asset tracking, confirm that each unit is secure, undamaged, and accessible, ensuring the device performs effectively when required.
Proper documentation and ongoing oversight also protect the organisation from compliance gaps or insurance disputes. By recording installation dates and inspection intervals, businesses create a verifiable trail showing that their fire safety equipment, though service-free, is responsibly managed. This approach keeps the Fire Safety Stick PRO integrated within a company’s broader fire safety strategy, ensuring it remains a reliable and compliant part of the overall fire protection system.
Step 1
Confirm the correct location, FSS Model type and if required, FSS ID Number at the top of the FSS Inspection Record.
For commercial installations, there should be an additional sticker on the handle showing its installation date.
Step 2
Is the correct model of FSS and the wall sign in place?
Please note: In some vehicles, a sign may not be provided/displayed.
Step 3
Is the tamper-tag in place securing the bottom striker cap to the handle?
Ensure there is no sign of damage or that the tag has been previously broken.
Indicate, and update, the anniversaries of the maintenance checks on the sticker applied to the tag.
Step 4
Ease out the striker cap, without breaking the tamper tag, and inspect the red/brown abrasive surface. Is the surface nice and dry?
Step 5
Is the ‘Top Protective Cap’ in place?
Remove it, ensuring it’s not too tight for a user to remove in an emergency.
Step 6
Check the ‘Black Tip’ (under the ‘Top Protective Cap’). Is there any evidence of the unit being discharged already?
Gently press the black resin with your fingertip (not fingernail) to ensure it is still firm. Are there any other signs of damage to the black resin?
Place the ‘Top Protective Cap’ back onto the top of the Fire Safety Stick, but not too tightly.
Step 7
Are there any other signs of external damage to the Fire Safety Stick?
Examine the metal tube and the black plastic handle. Is there anything else worth noting?
Although the Fire Safety Stick is extremely durable, if dropped, for example, please check that the aluminium tube is completely intact and not pierced, or in any way likely to impede its successful discharge.
Step 8
Once inspection of the unit is complete, date and sign the entry on the Fire Safety Stick maintenance logbook.
If the Fire Safety Stick fails any of the above steps please contact the supplier you originally purchased it from.
Where to install the Fire Safety Stick PRO?
The PRO packages are designed for varying environments for non-domestic implementation. Of which, the primary environments are non-domestic buildings and commercial vehicle fleets. Before rushing off, there are a few considerations or steps to review before implementing the Fire Safety Stick PRO:

Commercial Vehicle Fleets
If your fleet is not governed by ADR (carriage of dangerous goods by road), PSV (public service vehicles), or PSA (passenger safety approvals), you can implement the Fire Safety Stick PRO seamlessly into your vehicle fleet. If your vehicles do fall under the mentioned regulations, you can have the Fire Safety Stick PRO as a complementary tool.
If not governed by ADR, PSV or RSA, your steps are as follows:
- Update Internal Fleet Fire Safety Procedures: Document the installation and placement of the Fire Safety Stick PRO in your fleet safety procedures, including:
- Mounting location within the vehicle
- Staff guidance on activation
- Maintenance/visual inspection procedure
- Staff Training: Ensure drivers and relevant personnel are trained in the correct use of the Fire Safety Stick PRO and understand where it is stored in each vehicle. Videos and documents can be obtained from Fire Safety Stick directly.

Non-domestic Premises (Workplaces)
The Fire Safety Stick PRO can be implemented into non-domestic premises (workplaces) as primary or complementary firefighting equipment. However, there are a few essential steps to complete beforehand to ensure compliance and proper integration if being used as a primary firefighting tool:
- Update the Fire Risk Assessment (FRA): Have your FRA updated by an independent, competent fire risk assessor, taking into account the level of risk and the introduction of the Fire Safety Stick PRO as part of your firefighting provision.
- Update the Fire Strategy: Ensure your fire strategy is amended to reflect the change in firefighting equipment. This should again be completed by a qualified fire risk assessor or fire safety consultant to maintain alignment with your overall fire safety management plan.
- Notify Your Insurance Provider: Inform your insurance provider of the change in firefighting equipment to confirm ongoing coverage and compliance with policy conditions.
If being used as a complementary tool to the existing extinguishers already in place, a simple update to the fire strategy would be suggested to avoid confusion and outline them as additional and not a replacement.
